Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig Sept. 21, 1983) is a well-known American actor. Most notably, she played Shannon Rutherford from ABC's Lost television show, as well as Kim Mills for the Taken Trilogy. Originally from Worthington Ohio she left high school and moved in Los Angeles with her mother following her divorce from her parents. Even though she had financial difficulties, her 2001 debut was in the role of Rachel's Room's primary character. Following her win of an Young Artist Award in 2002 due to her role in Murder in Greenwich of 15 year old Martha Moxley as a murder victim, Grace was able to take home the award. The role was reprised in Taken 2 (2013) and Taken 3 (2015). In addition, she played Alice as Alice in Malice in Wonderland which is a modern adaptation that the Lewis Carroll novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace played Shannon's part on Lost for two episodes, including the finale of the series. The actress was featured in 2013's six-season of Californication. She is Faith an actress who is a muse for the stars and catches the attention to Hank Moody (David Duchovny). As a member of the Gyllenhaal family She is the child of filmmakers Stephen Gyllenhaal and Naomi Achs as well as the elder sibling of actor Jake Gyllenhaal. She began her career in the teen years with minor roles in several of the films of her father and starred alongside her brother in the cult favorite Donnie Darko (2001). Later, she was as a character in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind and Mona Lisa Smile (both 2002). Gyllenhaal's lead roles in Secretary, the romantic comedy-drama erotico and Sherrybaby (a dramatic) have earned her nominations to the Golden Globe Awards. The year 2006 was the time she appeared in a number of commercially successful movies including World Trade Center. However the role she played as Rachel Dawes that brought her more attention with The Dark Knight (2008). In the film, her performance as Crazy Heart as a mother who is a single parent was nominated for an Academy Award Best Supporting Actress. Then she continued to star in comedies along with dramas, such as Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011) as well as The Won't Back Down (12). Other parts include acting as a Secret Service agent of Secret Service in White House Down 2013, as a singer for Secret Service in White House Down 2013. She also appeared singing in Frank 2014 and also as a singer in The Kindergarten Teacher 2018, in which she plays the lead character. Gyllenhaal began her professional career as screenwriter, director and writer in the year 2021, when she wrote and directed The Lost Daughter, a psychological drama. The Lost Daughter. The film received the award for Best Screenplay in The Venice International Film Festival, and was also nominated for the Academy Award.
